Food Truck Heaven

Last Sunday was the annual Taste of Two Cities Food Truck Rally so I took my friends Mike and Adam down to the harbor. It's between Baltimore and DC and you get to vote and help decide the winner. My favorite food truck, Gypsy Queen, pretty much wins every year so it was no surprise they took the prize again. Still bummed that they were all sold out by the time we got there. :( I still managed to find a delicious crab tostada and seasoned fries at another truck and got a huge milkshake for dessert! I love my food trucks!!!

The Funky Flea

Yesterday I got up at the crack of dawn to go to the Pink Cabbage's Funky Flea! First of all, the Pink Cabbage is an awesome shop in my area that has several vendors within it that sell anything from handmade, vintage, shabby chic, and much more. Each year they hold their own flea market called the Funky Flea. I had such a great time talking to people and seeing lots of vintage goodies. Here are some photos I snapped while walking around.

And of course I couldn't leave without buying some things for myself! My favorite item is the gorgeous pink petticoat! Can't wait for this event to come around again next year. Wouldn't mind being a vendor here either! :)

Happy Memorial Day, Hon!

Since we all had the day off, Mike, Mark and I went to Hampden for brunch and to just walk around for the afternoon. I must not have been there for awhile because lots of new shops and places to eat are popping up! Even my favorite shop Doubledutch Boutique moved down the street and the place looks adorable! I snapped some photos of the new space. I found the cutest minty green ice cream sundae dress....can't wait to go back and do some damage when the hubby isn't with me :) I was good and didn't buy anything today except for a 'flamingo cookie mix'. I just had to. Baking them right now! Happy Memorial Day everyone!!

Smoothie Detox

This is the smoothie detox I have been following this week. I'm really liking it actually. Once I got past day 2, it was smooth sailing! I did however break my blender and had to skip a smoothie but my new blender is way better so it all worked out. I've been following it exactly except for the fact that I had some potato chips and sushi yesterday (since I couldnt make my dinner smoothie) but other than that I've stayed on track. I havent been crazy about weighing myself but I must have lost an inch or so around my waist because I wore a dress the other day that I recently wasnt able to fit into. I'm doing it longer than 3 days to see my results and because I actually like the way the smoothies taste! I'm hoping that eating all these fresh fruits and vegetables will help me eat better in general once I stop doing the detox.

My favorite is the breakfast smoothie....all those yummy raspberries!!! Mmmmm! And I only miss candy a little :)

Fun at Lucketts!

This past weekend was the Lucketts Spring Market in VA. Its a huge vintage flea market with over 100 vendors. We were vendors at the show this year so Kelli and I packed up things from the shop, painted furniture, and much more and set up shop. I also brought some of my handmade jewelry. :) We met lots of awesome new friends and chatted with some familiar ones, too. I found some things to bring home with me too...a new chair, a street sign, a creepy doll, a dress, a cute chevron apron, and some other small goodies. It was so great to just see all the one of a kind items in one large space. Only down side, the weather was super crappy and rained off and on the entire time. Not fun for an outdoor event. I think next year we will just go and shop!! Here are a bunch of photos I took...

Fells Point Flea Market

Last Sunday was the Fells Point Flea Market in Baltimore and I found lots of goodies! My favorite vintage dealers were there so I hit them first and got a pile of summer dresses and some freebies they threw in.. I love them!!!! It pays to buy from the same people and buy lots! I also found a cool Elvis pocket knife. I'd been wanting a pocket knife and what could be better than an Elvis one! I found the cute 60s lady head for only $5 and managed to find something with Mary Poppins on it for my Mom. A great day!

Dyeing with Chalk Paint®

Kelli and I have been experimenting a lot with our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ®. She had heard about people dyeing fabric with it so we tried it out the other day to see for ourselves. It really works and it looks amazing!! We ended up dyeing slips, dresses, doilies, and any other blank canvas we could find. All you need to do is fill a bucket with water and mix in your desired amount of paint. Mix it up real good then dip in your fabric. We let our things soak in the water for about 15-20 minutes and then hung them outside to dry. The items were washed and dried that night and they still look fabulous! Its such a fun little project and all you really need is a sample pot of you favorite color!
