Happy Memorial Day, Hon!

Since we all had the day off, Mike, Mark and I went to Hampden for brunch and to just walk around for the afternoon. I must not have been there for awhile because lots of new shops and places to eat are popping up! Even my favorite shop Doubledutch Boutique moved down the street and the place looks adorable! I snapped some photos of the new space. I found the cutest minty green ice cream sundae dress....can't wait to go back and do some damage when the hubby isn't with me :) I was good and didn't buy anything today except for a 'flamingo cookie mix'. I just had to. Baking them right now! Happy Memorial Day everyone!!

Smoothie Detox

This is the smoothie detox I have been following this week. I'm really liking it actually. Once I got past day 2, it was smooth sailing! I did however break my blender and had to skip a smoothie but my new blender is way better so it all worked out. I've been following it exactly except for the fact that I had some potato chips and sushi yesterday (since I couldnt make my dinner smoothie) but other than that I've stayed on track. I havent been crazy about weighing myself but I must have lost an inch or so around my waist because I wore a dress the other day that I recently wasnt able to fit into. I'm doing it longer than 3 days to see my results and because I actually like the way the smoothies taste! I'm hoping that eating all these fresh fruits and vegetables will help me eat better in general once I stop doing the detox.

My favorite is the breakfast smoothie....all those yummy raspberries!!! Mmmmm! And I only miss candy a little :)

Fun at Lucketts!

This past weekend was the Lucketts Spring Market in VA. Its a huge vintage flea market with over 100 vendors. We were vendors at the show this year so Kelli and I packed up things from the shop, painted furniture, and much more and set up shop. I also brought some of my handmade jewelry. :) We met lots of awesome new friends and chatted with some familiar ones, too. I found some things to bring home with me too...a new chair, a street sign, a creepy doll, a dress, a cute chevron apron, and some other small goodies. It was so great to just see all the one of a kind items in one large space. Only down side, the weather was super crappy and rained off and on the entire time. Not fun for an outdoor event. I think next year we will just go and shop!! Here are a bunch of photos I took...

Fells Point Flea Market

Last Sunday was the Fells Point Flea Market in Baltimore and I found lots of goodies! My favorite vintage dealers were there so I hit them first and got a pile of summer dresses and some freebies they threw in.. I love them!!!! It pays to buy from the same people and buy lots! I also found a cool Elvis pocket knife. I'd been wanting a pocket knife and what could be better than an Elvis one! I found the cute 60s lady head for only $5 and managed to find something with Mary Poppins on it for my Mom. A great day!

Dyeing with Chalk Paint®

Kelli and I have been experimenting a lot with our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ®. She had heard about people dyeing fabric with it so we tried it out the other day to see for ourselves. It really works and it looks amazing!! We ended up dyeing slips, dresses, doilies, and any other blank canvas we could find. All you need to do is fill a bucket with water and mix in your desired amount of paint. Mix it up real good then dip in your fabric. We let our things soak in the water for about 15-20 minutes and then hung them outside to dry. The items were washed and dried that night and they still look fabulous! Its such a fun little project and all you really need is a sample pot of you favorite color!

I Scream, You Scream...

We all scream for ice cream! Cupcakes are my favorite but I love me some ice cream too...especially in the summer. I was browsing Modcloth today and found all these amazing ice cream themed items. I would like one of each please. Especially the red ice cream cone dress...obsessed. Might have to treat myself to that one soon. My favorite kind of ice cream is mint chocolate chip. Whats yours? :)

NYC Fame Show

One of the best parts of my job is that I get to go to trade shows and help buy new merchandise for the shop. This past Sunday and Monday, Kelli and I went to NYC for the FAME Apparel Show. We found some awesome new pieces to bring us into Fall. We found some adorable boots and one of my favorite pieces of the show was an amazing oversized cardigan with tribal print and skulls!!!

I also had to pick out a little something for myself...2 gorgeous Betsey Johnson bags. One red with skulls and one black and one. Obsessed. Oh, and it was also Cinco de Mayo while we were there so of course we had to go out and celebrate with some margaritas! What a fun time!

Wedding Cupcakes

My friends Rach and Chris tied the knot in Hawaii last month and celebrated their nuptials with family and friends today. I was asked to make them cupcakes and a mini cake for the two of them. We decided on three flavors; coconut, pineapple, and red velvet. They were so yummy!!!

And I got to wear my new vintage minty green 1960s dress that I scored for $5 last week. So glad it fit!!!

More Vintage Finds

I had to share some more of the stuff I found this weekend. Trust me, there is more but these were some of my favorites. Being that I collect salt and pepper shakers, I'm always looking for cute ones to add to the group. I found 2 pairs of adorable dog shakers. The small corgis remind me of my dog, Cooper. The red and black cowboy boots were a perfect fit and only $8, super cheap for a pair of awesome Dingos! And my favorite find is this amazing Addams Family Card Game. The cards have pictures of Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsy, Lurch, and Uncle Fester. Seriously, the coolest thing EVER!

Junkin Road Trip!

This past Sunday and Monday, Kelli and I and our friend Donna took a junkin road trip to Ocean City. We found so many great things for the shop and for ourselves. We packed the truck so tight I dont think we could've got anymore in it! My best find was the funky vintage shelves that will look awesome in my living room. Heres some pictures of all the great stuff we saw!
